Annual ReportsThe Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) and the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) would like to thank everyone who is able to participate in our annual government-to-government tribal consultations. We are truly grateful to the tribal leaders and representatives who have shared their recommendations and concerns. We are also grateful for those who took the time to submit written recommendations to OVW about how DOJ and other federal agencies can help improve the federal response to violence against American Indian and Alaska Native women.
OVW produces an annual report which summarizes the recommendations, testimony, and dialogue which takes place during the government-to-government tribal consultations, held pursuant to Public Law 109-162, Title IX, Section 903 of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2005, as amended. These annual reports are available here for download. Please note that this document does not reflect the opinion or position of DOJ; rather, it provides a comprehensive overview. The document itself has no force or effect of law and does not create any legally binding rights or obligations binding on persons or entities.
